Naah Scott, France was my first culture shock during my gap year sometime last century.
Quickly discovered that as the French dont really like the Brits, you get a lot further if you first try speaking to them in a language other than English.In my case Zulu and a Dutch derivative worked fine.They would then switch over to English as the Lingua Franca and I spent many a comfortable night in a farmers barn rather than in the back of my Citroen 2CV
Oh, and it's true about Farmers daughters and interesting visitors
Hoping to pick up a nice LHD E3/E9 in France as I have the complete conversion kit to RHD off my E3 3.3L.
LHD and "Oirlands" narrow roads dont work well
