Driving to a job in Brisbane,Australia, I saw rotting away in a carport a 1958-60 alfa giulietta spider veloce. Hasn't been touched for around 25 years, what a waste. What is some thing like that worth restored ??

Yes indeed. If it's a real Veloce, with a Veloce engine, it's worth a good amount. That engine featured twin Webers and is considered much more desirable than the single Solex "non-Veloce" model.
In my opinion, any early Alfa is worth saving from the scrap heap, especially a Veloce Spider.
Someone save it!
