strip the finish from dash??????????????????

i have tried every form of furniture and varnish remover.
can someone tell of a better way
also thanks to all helping and providing info.

I used JASCO, varnish basically flaked/crackled right off leaving the veneer. Cleaned it all up, touched up the stain a bit, then re-varnished.

Did you sprip the veneer in place or remove it from the car? If you did it in place did you have any issues about it "dissolving" or damaging adjacent parts?

Guage pod was out as with all my woodwork. Suggest refinishing all wood at the same time for more consistent results in stain, varnish etc..
