Can someone enlighten me on what sway bars can swap over to the E9? Specifically the 2800CS rear end and front end?
I have the OEM bars and would like to increase it sligtly. I have access to good E12's and E28 and E3's.
On my old E3 I know the E12 was an upgrade for bars.
Was wondering if the same is true for the E9?
Thanks
Pete

if I recall correctly, the rear is the same as on the E3 and the front is not.
I have oversized swaybars on my CS that I took off of an E12 528i (maybe a 530i, can't remember). They fit just fine.

I've got a set on my 2800 and love them. Call Carl and ask:

Fronts are the same as E3s, (same with all the front suspension parts).
I thought that rears are the same as 2002s, but they are not. I just checked and the 2002 bar is noticeably narrower. Looking at my parts books, the E9 bar is a different part number from the various E3 bars.
Some E12 front bars fit, others interfere with the front crossmember.
Generally, I believe all the E9 suspension is the same, except the '74s, which had bigger front sway bars and longer lower control arms. You can put the '74 front sway bars on any E9.
Nothing from E28s fits; they have a completely different suspension design.
