I have had the pleasure to own the E34 M5, E39 M5 and E46 M3... but I have had no desire whatsoever to get into an E60 of any flavor.... looks too much like a Pontiac GTO (or what is originally the Holden Monaro from my motherland of Australia).

But taking an E60 M5 "CSL" around the Nurburgring would be fun... I would pay for a few laps :-)

well if they were to build it it would be pointless anyway....

big 4 door car with a lot of grunt, but what's the purpose of 4 doors and no rear seat?

I think BMW should rather do a CSL version of the M6 - which is also really in need of a diet!!

Besides if they have only stripped 50 kg of the kerbweight this has nothing to do with a CSLeicht it will then still weigh in excess of 1700 kgs !!

Far points.

So perhaps you would appreciate the Alpina B6 GT3...

one of the best looking GT sports cars I have seen in a long time... but I am a BMW (and Alpina) bigot :-)
