For the Technical section, maybe

Scraping the underseal of the car, lower shows rust had got underneath . Top, underseal pulled off by hand...
If you are looking at a car check the underseal to see if it is loose as it can hide this kind of trouble.
Worst places "so far" seem to be around the tags that hold the fuel and brake pipes, plus component mounting brackets such as the rear brake flex hose mounts.
Basically anything that has been welded to the floor pan or has sharp edges.

Rear Suspension mount, Shock absorber tower is surface rust, but bump stop mount / spring locator needs work. Note rot in arch behind
