Can anyone recommend a CPA or tax expert in Los Angeles?

I’ve made the transition from the UK to the US but I have a lot of stuff I need to sort out. Namely my accounts. Does anyone know anyone that can advise someone who works in a freelance capacity? Seems surprisingly thin on the ground particularly finding anyone who specializes in the industry...

    Got tires?

I bought a set of Vredestein Sprint Classics last year but I wished I'd have hung on a while longer as Blockley, a UK based tire company who's tires I think look great (authentically vintage looking), have just introduced a 205/70/14VR size. This company based in Los Angeles (I believe)...

    head rest raise

They look great. My headrests would not budge. It was as though they were welded in. After soaking with penetrating fluid (as deQuincey said, leaving for a fortnight), I had some luck with careful use of scissor jack wedged between the seat and headrest.

    my NOS hirschmann antenna

Indeed, it looks great. I have a photograph of my exact car when it was new (1975) and shows the antenna exactly where yours is. My one is a Beru which looks period but I don't know if it's original.

Anyone in Los Angeles selling a car for cheap?

Thanks David. I have seen all those. I should have said that I'm not after a large car. I've noticed that big high-end cars can be found for pretty cheap. In some cases they can't even give them away. The MX5 is on my list so thanks for that.

Anyone in Los Angeles selling a car for cheap?

Still looking ... Thanks Tierfreund but $85k is a bit out of my range. Looking to spend $2000. It's hard to find anything that's suitably nimble and fun whilst not being a complete wreck but I'm determined to find something. I'm quite enjoying the search. If anyone does know of something in...

Anyone in Los Angeles selling a car for cheap?

Thanks for the replies guys. Thanks David, that's kind of you. That's quite a fleet. We are staying in Beverly Hills. Definitely worth dropping by that place to kick some tires and thoroughly waste their time. Interesting stuff there Stan though I think that Scirocco would be vastly...

OT-ish: Would like to hire an old BMW for a couple of months, SoCal

That last one is pretty nice. Last time I was in SF I saw a lot of old BMWs in a really beater condition. Maybe it's fashionable:

Hi Arde. That's something I will indeed consider if I cannot find a car to hire.

OT-ish: Would like to hire an old BMW for a couple of months, SoCal

Hi there. Can anyone recommend somewhere that may lend out either an old BMW or an old Mercedes for 2-3 months from the middle of August? I’m going to be working in LA (I’m originally from that way) and it would be great to be driving something familiar. If anyone knows anyone or anything...

    Becker Europa/Old cassette player question

Hi Stefan. Not sure if it works. Old Becker's seem to be quite robust though. Going to give it a bit of a clean and see if it will fire up.

    Becker Europa/Old cassette player question

Sort of off-topic ish I guess but is to do with the coupé. I've got an old becker radio that is missing the spring that keeps the cassette door closed when not in use. Does anyone know what this spring looks like and whether there's a easily obtainable substitute/easy fix? Many thanks, Ben
