Hello,
I was wondering if there's someone who can verify if underneath gearbox would fit on my 3.0CS engine.
I would like to change from an automatic gearbox to a 5-speed.
The gearbox is coming from a BMW 635 E24 Year: 1980 (with tacho)

Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I uploaded some pictures.
The project is still ongoing... Part by part, bolt by bolt, ...
It's hard sometimes to find some time to work on it...
I will post some pictures in the next post to keep it a bit organized and clear :)
Do not hesitate do give...
Hi Heikki,
Is it possible that I saw you on Saterdaymorning in Kotrijk? You were driving direction Zwevegem.
If it was you, I have to congratulate you with your car. It looks stunning! Looks even better in real life!
For me it was actually the first time I saw an E9 driving in real life. :)...
It just doesn't seems to work with these clips. After a one hour try I gave it up...
Thinking about buying some M4 molding bolts like the ones on the end of the trim to get the work done properly.
Hi everyone,
After a long time I found some time again to work on my E9 project.
I want to install the chrome trim/rubber on my rocker cover, but does someone know the right steps to do this?
I assume the following:
1. Put the white mounting clips in the rocker cover
2. Push the pin through...
Hi everyone,
Does someone know if the tank rubber is still available somewhere?
As you can see on the pictures, mine is torn.
If not, does someone has one in very good condition, willing to sell?
Thanks in advance!
Jens
I was devastated when I was reading this topic at lunch today since I bought new pillar logos from the local BMW dealer last week.
When I came home I went straight to the garage to check this and unfortunately I have the same problem. (Pins are slightly pointing inwards)
I adjusted the old...
Hi everyone,
First of all thanks for the prompt replies!
I already have the OEM rubbers and bushings from W&N, so this is not the issue.
I asked the question because I already helped to assemble an E9 two years ago with a friend of mine.
We replaced the rear sub frame then with the Bilstein...
Hi guys,
I would like to install the rear sub frame of my E9 tomorrow.
I have a question about the rubber(s) that should be used in the shock towers.
Can I use the original rubber with bushing (nr. 10 & 11 picture below) or should I use the rubbers delivered with the Bilstein shock absorber...
Thanks Erik!
I didn't think myself that I would stand so far by now.
As you can see I already removed the holes for the Automatic badge on the trunk.
I will try to find a proper 5-speed when restoring the engine.
Thanks!
Bottom of the front and rear were first painted with stone guard, this gives another texture.
Afterwards the whole car was painted in the 060 Polaris silver color, the original BMW color.
Hi everyone,
I bought a new center tie rod from W&N. It was delivered with some seal/cap over the joint.
Is it supposed to be there when assembled or is this just protection during transportation?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Jens
