    73 POLARIS E3 BUILD...Slowly..

Oh wow, that’s gorgeous. I may have to get a half pint to see how it looks..I was hoping to avoid spraying a metallic, since I’ll be painting some parts separately..that makes it near impossible to match..but that is sweeet looking

    73 POLARIS E3 BUILD...Slowly..

I do love Pastellblau on the 02s...I feel like it's too light for a Bavaria, though.. I wish I could find a color I could keep my blue interior, as it's in great shape..I wonder how blue seats with black carpet would look?

    73 POLARIS E3 BUILD...Slowly..

Decided to make a new idler arm bushing with Delrin instead of rubber..should tighten up the steering a bit.

I’m still happy to jar some fillings loose..:-) I’ll have to pick up the big sway bars, too.. I have new bilsteins and lowering springs on the way..

Yeah, I looked at my mounts and they’re tapered so I wouldn’t be able to make them for that curved shape anyway..and they’d be sooo harsh.

Now I'm looking at the rear subframe supports. I only see oem at over $100/ea, and still rubber, or Ireland urethane (out of stock) for $200/pair. Would it be crazy to just make delrin bushings for those or would that make the rear end too rough riding/noise transmitting? Thoughts? I can make...

    73 POLARIS E3 BUILD...Slowly..

I do love most of the early BMW blues, as well. I just wish Riviera didn't darken sooo much in the shade. It almost looks purple. In the sun it's stunning. I also love tan or tobacco interior. My old 1600 was tobacco...such a nice color.

    73 POLARIS E3 BUILD...Slowly..

Also. Can my build thread be moved to the resto page? I think I started this before we had separate pages...LOL

    73 POLARIS E3 BUILD...Slowly..

Here's the idler arm. I think I'll make a two piece Delrin bushing to fit the existing unit. I pressed out the center of the old one and cleaned off the center steel sleeve to reuse. Could be fun to make those pieces quick..

    73 POLARIS E3 BUILD...Slowly..

Got a little more done today. I finished the front sub frame bushing loop reenforcement, painted, and pressed in the bushings...good lord, those are a PIA to get in. Also finally pulled the rear subframe out to get ready to clean/rebuild. Thought: I pulled the Idler arm off and of course the...

    73 POLARIS E3 BUILD...Slowly..

Ok, cool...It feels like the right thing to do, while it's apart...I'd sure hate to have it come apart on me...

    73 POLARIS E3 BUILD...Slowly..

So, if any of the group has experience with the strengthening needs of the front subframe, here's what I'm thinking. I pulled my front bushings out to get ready for clean up and paint, when I noticed it was bent from what I assume was a curb or something..I got it back in shape with some...

    73 POLARIS E3 BUILD...Slowly..

Good Lord...I'm going to start back on my build thread! Been a minute...;-/. So, I've been looking at different colors for the car..sprayed a Riviera spare panel, but I don't like the color in the shade..in the sun, it's gorgeous..but in the shade, it's just so far off what I want..ugh. I'll...

    Code for Caribe?

I definitely like Sikkens, I've used it, I believe, in the past..but paint has gotten insanely expensive lately, so I have to factor that in, too. What I used to shoot for $400-$600 is now $1200+...it's crazy..

    Code for Caribe?

Yeah, I have pics of most all of the colors, but they tend to change from pic to pic, so my plan is to do a spray out of a few that I like to see. The Riviera looks gorgeous in daylight, but awful in the shade...just my opinion...I may try a couple greens, too...maybe ResedaGrun...might be too...

    Code for Caribe?

The paint code 059 isn't the problem, those numbers are everywhere...the shop accessing the actual formula was my issue. I think maybe they're just too small of a shop, so I'm going to contact Galsurit or Scottie's, as Keshev suggested in a pm. no worries. I may look for a green, too. I'm all...

    Code for Caribe?

That does look nice!! Yeah, definitely really like it in the sun. It's pretty perfect.

    Code for Caribe?

Ok, so here's a test panel of riviera, two coats of Nason single stage (not a ton of prep, so it's not very clean). I'll probably do bc/cc for actual paint job. It's so much darker with inside light vs sunlight. I like it in the sun, but not so much inside..Pretty crazy. I still can't help but...

    Code for Caribe?

I couldn't get anywhere on the actual mix for Caribe, so I picked up a half pint of Riviera to spray on a scrap panel...I'm feeling like it's fairly close to Caribe and might be a better choice for a 73 e3..I'll report back...

    Code for Caribe?

Hey all! I stopped by a local paint store to get a pint of caribe to test on an old panel, and the guys couldn’t find the code anywhere. I know the 059 code, but he can’t get anymore info on it. Does anyone know how I can track it down? I’m thinking this might be my color, but I want to see it...
