    Sanden compressor conversion brackets

Bavaria has the power steering driven from the fan like the E9, correct? I'm only able to find one belt for it on realoem. Part #32-41-1-268-688 which is 9.5 x 1155. But not so fast, in my experience those dimensions from BMW are the pitch diameter of the belt, while the modern parts stores use...

    Sanden compressor conversion brackets

508 or 709 works just fine. There's a lot of variations of both, different fittings and different sized pulleys etc. This is the one I like. A 709 with a 125mm pulley. Larger pulleys work (132mm I think), but can make installing the bolts more difficult. The 508 has 5 pistons and the 709 has 7...

Yes I do. Send me a PM and I can fix you up. More info here: e9coupe.com/forum/threads/sanden-compressor-conversion-brackets.34898/ I just used a generic flare thread expansion valve from nostalgicac.com. The only variable is the length of the sensing tube (sorry I don't remember what the...

Here's the condenser installed, and some brackets I made to attach an electric fan to it.

    Air conditioning upgrade photos/details

Hi Bill, On this E9 I installed a generic parallel flow condenser and made all new hard lines, generic dryer etc. The only original part was the evaporator. I used the biggest condenser I could fit (I forget the size, but you can find it in my thread "72 restomod"). It would have been...

Yes, my bracket goes right onto a B35. It'll fit any M30 (that I know of...) provided you have a wing cell bracket to attach it to. Most engines after about 1982 already have it, but you would have to acquire one for an earlier engine. (S38B36 shown here)

    Sanden compressor conversion brackets

Thanks for the feedback, Luis. I think your bracket must have been previously worn down by a loose compressor. Every one I've seen has fit tightly. But there were millions made, so who knows. I think your washers are a good fix though and you shouldn't have any problems.

    Sanden compressor conversion brackets

It'll fit if you have the part number bracket above. You can send me a pic of what you have and I'll identify it for you.

Attention triple Weber users - custom air filter project

Semi related: I once made a fiberglass replica of the 2002 Alpina intake. I didn't have one to copy, this was entirely done from pictures. It could certainly be done for the E9 intake, but fiberglass is really hard work, and you probably couldn't mass produce them with the Alpina name on them (I...

    Sanden compressor conversion brackets

The wing cell bracket is part # 64-52-1-284-953. They're easy to find on ebay for $20-30. Or anyone you know that's worked on a few M30's probably has one laying around.

    Sanden compressor conversion brackets

Also, it's not just for E9s. 99% of M30 engines already have the wing cell bracket. Those owners can't come up with enough York brackets to do any good.

    Sanden compressor conversion brackets

Hello all, I have a very small one-man BMW restoration shop that I call L.C. Wylie & Co. and I also make and sell these brackets to convert your air conditioner to a modern Sanden type compressor. The original compressors are inefficient, expensive, and very hard to find a reliable new or...

Parts prices that make no sense... The latest ripoffs....

I used the M5 guibo on a 4 speed E9 and it fit perfectly. As far as I know, the non-M E28 guibo is the same but thinner (and half the price of the M one). You could probably use that one with some spacers if you feel like getting into it. But the M one is a good value already.

    '72 Restomod

The seats are Cobra brand. I think they came from England. I don't know much other than that. The sliders come with the seats, but the brackets to mount them had to be made. It's just a big aluminum plate with some holes. But there's a flange on the E9 that had to be hammered over to fit the...

Are these things pats of an E9?

I can see tooling marks from a sheet metal break. A break is good for custom or short run parts. I can't think of any production car part I've ever seen made in that way.

    '72 Restomod

I started attempting to repair the photos, for anyone not using the Chrome plugin, or if it stops working later. It's pretty tedious. Many of them are over the 2.0MB limit for the forum. I'll keep trying. So I finished the car back in early August and it went home to its owner. I'm still...

    Noisy transmission

If an E9 4 speed (G262) is noisy when using Redline MTL, is there another fluid that might make it quieter? I know the MTL is kind of thin, but most thicker fluids are not compatible with syncros. (I know Redline has MT90, but the difference between MTL and MT90 is very marginal) The noise is...
