    ‘72 Inka 02

Drove it several hundred miles this weekend during Terry Sayther’s 02BerFest. Car ran great and everyone had a great time. I think we had 17, 2002s in attendance. You can see in this last picture how much darker mine is compared to Barney’s more recently painted Inka. Mine almost looks red...

    ‘72 Inka 02

I would never have gotten this car done had Barney not allowed me the use of his shop... I had been killing myself in my driveway in 107 degrees and direct sun. I was very fortunate with this car that it had been garaged most its late life and not rotting in the sun, outside. I had bought an...

    ‘72 Inka 02

Thanks, Stan, Once I had it on the lift, I realized the 4 speed was toast... The driveshaft yoke was loose on the output shaft of the transmission. When I removed it, the splines of the output shaft were smeared off and the splines of the yoke were basically gone. The car would not have gone...

    ‘72 Inka 02

The car came to me with Cromodoras, but they were dull and needed to be refinished. One of the Houston guys had a primo set of Octavo 100+ wheels with polished lips. I've always liked those and they were a lot shinier than the Cromodoras. I actually sold the Cromodoras to Barney and he is...

    ‘72 Inka 02

For those of you not on 2002FAQ, here’s a quick bit about a ‘72 Inka 2002 I finally have back on the road. I got it about 18 months ago from an acquaintance up in Dallas. I was the 4th owner in 27 years and the car had not driven in all that time. It has a Tii engine and my belief is they...

Sold - Very nice 2000CS steering wheel

Sorry folks... this wheel is now sold. I’m posting for Resra, one of my favorite sellers over on 2002FAQ. He asked me if I knew of anyone looking for a perfect 2000CS steering wheel. I offered to post it up here. Send me a PM and I’ll forward his contact info. He’s asking $500 Ed Z

    DAVE CRUZ?

Something I have never been able to decipher from the receipt is the camshaft ID. It says "528-4" Allen Hardy had no idea, but gave me a name of some old school cam grinder in the Bay area... they also had no clues for me. Allen said the H&B shop typically installed a 284 for a street engine...

    DAVE CRUZ?

Dave Cruse rebuilt the engine and transmission in my ‘67, 2000CS! There was a Hardy&Beck receipt in all the paperwork of this car. I scanned it and emailed H&B. Allen Hardy wrote me back explaining that it appeared they didn’t do the work, but Dave Cruse’s name and number was printed on it...

    Roundel Restoration

It's so easy... got to Hobby Lobby for Testors model paint, some brushes, and maybe some thinner. I've repainted maybe a dozen over the years, some just for practice. Here's an FAQ link that talks about it: https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/147974-repainting-raised-roundel-badge/ Clean...

    Tune Carbs - how often?

One thing that is very important for carb’d cars, and that is the fuel you buy. If there is a non-ethanol choice… buy it. I’ve torn down many carbs that are so fouled with green gunk, that I can only attribute to ethanol poisoning. Good fuel, and drive them often. Ed

What are the Details in the Rear Fenders Between E9 and E120

Be sure to measure the depth of the lip. I think you will find the 2000CS is more narrow (I had to trim my replacement panels) If you are going to use a 2000CS fender on an e9, you may have to grind down the e9 panel to blend where they meet. (I hope that is clear) Ed
