It could be worse. It could also have had massive tailfins like the cars in the 1950s. In 6 months the giant gaping grille won't look so wierd. BMW knows that their main market is now China. They are way behind on converting to BEVs and they had to try some type of gimmick to boost sales.
I've always thought that publically displayed statues are political statements that get a pass because they are also considered "art". Thus, IMO they belong in a museum. I'm sure at some point in the future, some group will want to tear down the statue of Jimi Hendrix in Seattle. And maybe even...
My wife bought a new 1972 malaga 2002 at Ott and Berger BMW in Williamstown, MA. We took it there for service and one day while we were waiting, one of the owners had a 1972 nachtblau 3.0cs with tan leather and he was laying patches of rubber back and forth on the street where the dealer was...
I'm intimidated by that first Spring startup. Not because I worry if the car will start. I just hate the mouse house dirt and debris that flies out of the AC vent.[emoji193]
I wouldn't read too much into this. It's on a concept car, the i4, and we all know what THAT means. Look at that giant front grille. Its size has been ridiculed by the common folk and the automobile experts alike. Concept cars are just that. They are marketing hype. In this case its BMW's...
Just a thought. Could everyone please keep this thread limited to providing suggestions to OP of how to get his car registered in CA? The political stuff is peripheral to the request.
Any 4th gen 4WD Toyota 4Runner V8 (roughly mid 2000s in vintage). The engines are bulletproof and they can haul anything and go anywhere, even with a stock suspension setup. Their main drawback is frame rust. Yes, they do have a frame. There is a cottage industry for upgraded suspension parts...
I replaced a couple of bulbs in my 2005 Toyota 4Runner dash display with LED equivalents. My advice is that LEDS have plus and minus contacts, so one has to have the polarity correct or the LED will not light. That's the bad news. The good news is they come in a myriad of wattages and colors.
I'm in the Hudson Valley and other than photos from the Saratoga car events, I haven't seen another E9 locally in many years. They must be out there somewhere. Nor have any of my local BMW dealers seen one recently (I'm on my 8th BMW a 2018 530e), at least according the the various car salesmen...
I didn't want to derail the E9 EV conversion thread, so here's a link to an article about the German car industry and EVs:

5 years from now when all the gasoline stations are only selling hydrogen and electricity, I'm afraid that mane will have the last laugh on us. The days of the ICE car are rapidly drawing to close.
I find this to be one of the most interesting build threads ever. As an owner of a 1972 E9 and a 2019 530 AWD eDrive, I wish that I could merge the best features of both cars. This build is even better.
As an aside, the CSE build blog URL is actually:

If you said that five years ago, I'd would have agreed with you. Porsche has tried to go more mainstream with the Macan, the Cayenne and the Panamera
This has sold more cars but has split the fan base in two. Now there is a lot of discussions between owners of "real" Porsches and newer model...
