sanded away the new surface rust (gasp!) from the bottom of my radiator, and touched up the black paint with a foam brush. Had my rad triple cored last summer, and silly me, trusted the quickie light pass of black paint at the radiator shop would be sufficient to protect it from corrosion. This will work for now, kinda looking forward to a year where I do not have to drain coolant, mop up, remove radiator, get all caught up in upgrading because I now have all this great access to stuff, if you know what I mean ...;) Mike

Here's the Pirelli Cinturato mounted today to a stock rim. Yowser.

Wow, I didn't know Keith Haring designed tread patterns! Definitely different from current water channeling designs.

from what i remember about these tires, when i had a set on my mgb-gt ... they throw a ton of spray in the wet (everywhere). it is a real PITA to drive behind them in the rain. of course ... a coupe will rarely be driven in the rain - correct? these tires were the tested equal of the XWX back in the day. they look great!

so Steve, what is the manufacturing date on the tires? - the 4 digit code ... like 0916 (9th week of 2016)

What's behind me is not important

Admittedly I am all about the looks and not concerned if they hold .x more G's than a modern design as my city driving is quite leisurely. I will go fast on the interstate though and the suspension feels solid at speed.

I will get the code, I think they just started making these in March of 2016.

Stan, you'll have to drive it again to see what you think.

Steve ... you are a trusting guy ... didn't something bad happen to the rear suspension the previous time? something we don't need to mention as we don't want to jinx anything

LuisA was riding shotgun when the shock tower broke. I encourage fellow e9'ers to drive my car as I welcome their expertise and feedback on what to improve. So far only SFDon (too briefly due to impending monsoon), HBChris and Stan have taken me up on it, TMason preferred to ride and not take the chance - understandable. I've since improved the carbs and added the Schrick. I am looking forward to seeing if the 14's soften the bumps vs. my 15's. The Bilsteins and lowering springs are pretty rough over the potholes of NOLA.

Here's why my guess was Keith Haring. And he got very rich doing this! But then he died of AIDS, which is when I decided I didn't want to be him anymore...

excellent ... that means they are continuing to make them. i read on a porsche site that the ones for their car were old (8 to 10 years old) ... which scared me.
