Seeking the in-trunk plastic tool box. My brittle original is spitting plastic shards as it disintegrates. Thanks.

i priced them 2 months ago thru US dealers and discounted places and Carl Nelson was the cheapest at that time (and not a bargain), i bought it from W+N for substantially lower ... even with the shipping it was cheaper (ok, i used a 20 euro discount coupon) ... but it still would have been cheaper without it.

Just curious. I have a bunch of E3/9 tool boxes as well as a handful of e12/28 boxes.
The plastic is far superior on the e12 and later. Are they interchangeable?
Obviously not for the purist tho.

I put the big e12/28 tool boxes in my e30s. That's a direct fit.

the e12 / e28 box is very similar to the '74 e9 box. i do not know if they fit in without revision to the surrounding panels or not.

Large red screwdrivers do not fit in the e12/28 toolbox slot. The shank is too long.o
The later e12/28 tool box is just a drop down tray
Over all depth looks the same
Edit for brevity turned awry.

Maybe these are e12 e28, ttotally different wing nut positions...
The plastic is more resilient on both tho.
