Use the 3M yellow weather strip adhesive.  Put it on both parts, let it
sit a minute or two, then use a C-clamp and clamp the pieces together.
Put a thin flat piece of wood over the vinyl part before you attach the
clamp to distribute the load, and put the metal part of the C-clamp on
the metal inside of your door.  Let it sit overnight and it should be
done. I have done CS glove box doors this way, and have also done those
crazy designed doors on the rear shelf of 635 coupes, and it has held up
well under the sun over time.  Hope this helps, and good luck.
