If anyone has any leads on an e12 parts car or source for a passenger side chrome electric mirror I’m interested! See pic, notice the black on the hinge area.

I checked my e12 parts guru Dave. He has the e9 style electrics and no spares like yours. I guess they are pretty rare.

Oops! I didn’t read your first post well. I thought you needed a driver’s side. There is another passenger side on kleinanzeigen.

The e12 must have had at least four types of mirrors. Three chrome and one black. I would say five types if they had early cars without power mirrors.

I recently sold a pair of Euro E23 chrome door mirrors. Buyer said he would mount these on his E28. Above suggests E28 and E12 are interchangeable, so perhaps E23 too? Anyway, could broaden search pool. Hope you find some. Mike

From what I have researched, e28, e24 and e23 are different from e12. I have seen one or two passenger side manual mirrors but they have a different shape from the electric model.

i think Gary's idea is a good one. i know my '79 e12 didn't have a passenger mirror ... and many of the early e12's didn't either. the late e12's (80 + 81) had the highest percentage ... but that is a much different (black) mirror. the e23 switch had 2 electric mirror buttons so that would be a good source for the controls

Thanks Chris, I have the original owners manual and bought the blue book. The electrical manual looks cool but I don’t need to spend another $125 right now.

What is it with these mirrors? I would kill for that e12!

Guys, that’s my advert wanting to buy the depicted mirror HBChris is looking for. The car is a generic pic off the net only to show exactly what I’m looking for.
