    WTB 6mm Spring Wave Washer(s)

Looking for (8) to reassemble my intake manifolds 07119932072. These are NLA from BMW but available from a UK seller for between 4 and 8 pounds per piece! Trying to find a more reasonable option... Thanks.

    Changing starter.

So ended up installing a 441; ordered a 444 but returned it after a bench test determined it wasn't putting out the stated power. Its also larger than the 441. The 440 is very difficult to find... Anyone know the torque spec. for the two mounting bolts? Thanks.

    Dip Stick Tube Weeping

Also, is the original tube the non-300mm?

    Dip Stick Tube Weeping

OK, so no O-ring; thanks for confirming, Chris. The weeping is coming from the base of the tube, not where the dip stick bellows meets the tube. Is it worth ordering a new tube? I'm concerned about removing the original without breaking it! What type of sealant would you recommend?

    Dip Stick Tube Weeping

I assume there's an O-ring in there? Its not shown on Diagram 11/28? And how difficult is this fix? Thanks.

Cable holder acquired; still looking for other two... I also couldn't glue the rubber gasket into place because it was too short, but two cut and reattached will do the trick...

    Changing starter.

Still trying to determine whether the second spade connector on the 440, 441, 444 is always hot, or energized by the first connector (the one that's energized by the ignition switch? Thanks!

    Back to Zeniths

A few progress shots: Took about 6-8 hours to carefully remove all six fused manifold gaskets from head! Intake manifolds before/after sand and vapor blasting. (Looking into best finish to use for the clean aluminum?) Throttle linkage parts in acid bath prior to tumbling.. .

I didn't have time last night to put a better on the black/red wires, but they do appear to run to the coil.

    Changing starter.

After checking various wiring diagrams and inspecting my car, it seems that it does not have a ballast resistor, and that the resistance is in the wiring (the dashed black and white line on the diagram). Still trying to determine which of the three Bosch starters has a dedicated hot terminal...

    Changing starter.

OK, just need a bit more clarification: The original starter has two connectors (in addition to the large lug for the battery cable), but I'm having a hard time determining—from photos—exactly how many connectors the 440, 441, and 444 have? I'm assuming that I need a starter with two...
