    Vintage plans?

I believe when you get off of 26 onto 25 there is a gas station on the right where we have met before to all drive in together. Would that work?

    Vintage plans?

PS Don, Do you think we will be able to get close to that location to gather? I can imagine the "traffic jam" of all those who want to get in and get the shade. But I cannot say that from experience. Just a thought.

    Vintage plans?

Sounds like a great plan. I too will be volunteering at the Foundation Friday to start off this great weekend get together. Thanks Don for putting this idea out there. Will be a privilege to park next to your Targa. coupelady (Amy)

    Looking for new wiper inserts

We debated that idea but the cost of a new one is not astronomical, lasted all these years so I tend to lean toward new. Plus we did not feel we could have it here in time nor have the time to replace it. Thanks for that info though. We did hear that Carl Nelson has a few for future reference...

    Looking for new wiper inserts

Here is the report: the e12 master cylinder did not work. It was the only one found by the tech on his computer parts list. It would have taken Todd at Master Tech many hours to reformat the lines plus he didn't like the way the feed line would have been reconfigured. So left it alone for now...

    Looking for new wiper inserts

Thank you for coming to my rescue today. I also found out that I need a clutch master cylinder (and in a hurry, thought that leak was fixed). There are 77 in Germany none in the US. In the mean time found out that the e12 will fit with just a bit of tweeking, the angle is off some but I was...

    Looking for new wiper inserts

Getting ready for a big drive so looking over the car (obsessing maybe). Yup this one gets driven with gusto. As it has been raining so much here in NC need to be prepared if the wipers let go, I'd rather change them before I leave. Checked with Greg Howell at Don Jacobs BMW none in the...

What did you do to your E9 today?

The clutch master has been on my mind. The burning question, is that available?

What did you do to your E9 today?

THANK YOU Scott! I figure something else must be seeping too as brake fluid is so corrosive. This is a great start.

What did you do to your E9 today?

Did you find a new master cylinder? I would be interested to know, as this is the next project. Some fluid loss..... Today the passenger side door was opened. Apparently the locking mechanism was jammed with gunk after 27 years (when the restoration was completed). The techs at Black Top...

Classic Car Insurance companies - experience?

Hagerty! They asked what I felt the car was worth. They then checked what auctions have been doing and their book values. You can pretty much name what you think the car is worth especially if it is restored. Quite awhile ago I had a claim, they sent an independent person to photograph the...

    Show and shine fails

Vapor blasting, is that a vat sort of process? Nice result.

    Show and shine fails

Beautiful work, coming from a fellow detailer. We have had great luck with a Dremel tool with the various brushes and then the buffing tools maybe with a bit of compound. It is a small enough tool that lots of things benefit from it, we wore one of the tools out during the restoration we liked...

Convert Electric Front Window to Manual

I have seen other coupe pictures and cars at events where the windows in the rear seem to disappear. I am like you, I didn't think that was possible.

Convert Electric Front Window to Manual

I have read with great interest these postings as I see myself (or more likely a professional) giving the window mechanisms a bit of R & R this winter as they probably need-at least a cleaning and lubrication. It has been 26 years since I have seen inside the door panel and all that entails...

Beautiful complete original tool box on BaT

Yes and yes it fit well. I got mine through the BMW dealer several years ago. Very pleased with the look, easily hung but I still keep the tools out of it.

Beautiful complete original tool box on BaT

I received an answer from my parts friend Greg at BMW of Lexington that the tool box for the CS coupe shows available. He shows one for $199.60 and the other $469.85. I think the second one might be for our cars. I wanted to mention that in case you are following the tool box offered on BaT...

What did you do to your E9 today?

Pretty nice frosting on the cake(s). Love the 25th anniversary poster. Were you there? And the e9 flag - what a find.
