Stock brake booster will almost collide with the center carb.
I changed it to a 2002 booster (not Tii) and I am now able to run ca 30 mm long stacks and angled stacks would be no problem.
This is what it looked like the first time I put the carbs in with stock brake booster.
When I bought my 2800cs -69, in one of the boxes was an Eberspächer.
Were these a common optional on the E9 or is it completely aftermarket?
Does anyone know the worth of such thing? I cannot find a pic of an E9 with one mounted.
Reviving this old thread. My ZF 4 speed has the same symptoms as Lotuss7 "Clutch out, stationary at idle, crunchy noises (bearing / gears?). Same in 1st through 3rd when running. Silent in 4th however. Trans shifts smoothly, no grinding, balking, syncro issues when changing gears. "
I have the...
Consider that manufacturing tolerances in welded constructions, without milling afterwards, are fairly big, general +/- 2 mm. The only part of real significance on the headers is that the manifold is flat.
Since the headers are handmade I think length measurements and angles can vary quite a...
I have no experience from the IE headers but I have the identical set from Schmeidmann, and think they are somewhat equal build quality(?)
I had to heat and dent one pipe a little and also make a 5x20 mm cutout in the frame rail.
Strange that it only has one flat side. The outer and inner threads both seem to have the same diameter/thread?
I'm guessing the "nut" part is to be mounted against a (or two) flat surface and the outer screw should serve as a mounting point for something else. But I don't have a clue for what.
The glovebox is finally in! Glued together my glovebox and fabricated a holder for the button. Thanks Markos!
I have mounted the glovebox intended for cars without the ashtray, but I also have the one I believe is original for my car, pics below.
Mine had been sitting since -86 so I had an extensive amount of work to do before I could drive mine, which included Bilsteins and lowering springs. With that suspension it lies really good on the road with 16" and new tires, not only for an old car but compared to a lot of new cars. But I'm...
Just recieved my 34mm chokes today, will hopefully be able to install them tomorrow and try them.
My engine is original apart from the carburettors, but I plan on getting headers and different cam in the future.
I use original distributor from -69 (I'm away from the car so can't see a number...
Thank you guys.
Yes the carbs came with 36 mm chokes.
I ordered a set of 34 mm chokes now.
I went with 45's because my intake (mangoletsi) is designed for 45, although I had heard that the most common choice is 40.
My float level is set at 14 mm.
Will also try to remove the filters once!
I still have som problems with the carbs.
The car runs good when driving normal/cruising with slow or moderate acceleration. If i try to accelerate fast, the engine starts to stutter and I have to back off on the throttle and go more gently.
It's a 2.8 with 45's.
Chokes 36 mm
Thanks for the responses! Yes, the E3 would be the place to start, I really didn't think of that when I posted.. I think there is one quite near.
I have the glove box, just not the button/lock and notch.
Interesting about the dash. Will try to manufacture a small section.
