    Craigslist BMW Finds:

Is the white sedan a ‘59 Caddy? I didn’t think they had side scoops. I love the yellow car but the wheels make me cranky.

Yes, but I bid on it, so I'm an optimist.

    71 CSi Project in BaT

So that’s about $70k US. I’m throwing this out there more to see what others think than proclaiming I know the truth. But I still don’t see this car being economical for a long time in the US. My sense is top US shops wouldn’t touch it for less than $100k to get it to a $70k car. Might be...

    71 CSi Project in BaT

“My dad’s a television repair man, he’s got the ultimate set of tools. We can fix it! You can’t fix this, Spicoli! [Looks out the window while taking a hit] I can fix it!”

This one in Nevada desert for $1400 looks about the same or better. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/244640-1976-granatrot-2002/

    74 Window Mechanics

I think this is an excellent idea and will try before closing. Might at least need some dry teflon spray on the tracks to protect the bearing surface. Cleaning the hardened stuff is bad, but probably easier than finding replacement bearings. Missed the spring post. I'd have never...

WTB: Shifter boot Leather in Black

Guy at a boot shop—the cowboy type—told me he could rehydrate and repair mine. But he’s on a two-year wait to make real boots for real money, so your idea is much better. I also haven’t seen a new one I’m excited about. If you find a honey hole, I’d appreciate being next in line. Jay

The baked molasses gummed up and froze the track wheels—I was afraid they weren’t salvageable. Required lots of patience, fluid, soaking, brushing, dental floss, multiple passes, etc.

Front windows don’t have the same stops: The flat plate was covered with a foam pad that holds moisture and was the only part with rust. Not sure what type of pad I’ll replace it with after paint, but it won’t be a sponge.

    Craigslist BMW Finds:

IMHO, the E21 was the BMW most damaged by federalized bumpers & emissions. College roommate had one and it was underpowered, but it was otherwise a fun car. Good looking car with euro bumpers: https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/d/washington-1978-bmw-e21-320i-euro/6912522275.html

    Craigslist BMW Finds:

That car was bizarrely original & clean. There was some debate about whether the trunk and a couple other parts had been repainted, but, whatever market exists for 4 cylinder auto e28s, this would be near the top of the market. The bidding on some of the no-reserve cars in this collection made...

Several unconnected connectors under the steering column...

I went back to your main restoration thread, which I love btw. This would seem like something Mr. Nelson would have accounted for in the 265 swap, right? He might have an easy explanation.

Several unconnected connectors under the steering column...

Here’s pics from 74 CS original manual, noting after-market audio terrorists did a job on my wiring. The missing side of the plug has a looped ground, the green and blue wires lead out the body at a point roughly above the brake pedal, which I assume leads to the switch as Chris mentions...

    74 Window Mechanics

Thanks, Gary. I'm going to take the cover over off the driver's side and compare to make sure I'm not crazy or missing something obvious. I have the SuprerLube ready to go! I dont't use brake cleaner as much anymore. It took barely 10 mins to clean the gears and regulator with careful use of...

Fun game. I thought this was the brake fluid level, but I’m confused by the diode.

    74 Window Mechanics

Front and rear passenger windows finally gave up the ghost. As noted in the primary window write-ups by others, the procedure for swapping to E28 motors isn't as complicated in the 74. But the regulator is very different. A couple of questions/observations: 1. I don't see bump-stop screws or...

QUESTION FOR THE GROUP - Regional forums? - ANSWERED!

Veering off topic... What’s funny is there was another E9 2 blocks down my street, and folks directly behind me have a family member with one. Some guy north of me about 10 miles owns multiple E9s , and there’s an elite vintage racer BAT that gets serviced about a mile from me. One...
