I did order a new grounding cable for the battery and changed it out during this process. Like the old one, I simply bolted it into the same spot on the front fender. It worked fine when I tested the starter on its own.

Thanks - I'll check again. The length just didn't seem that it would go that far, and I do not recall removing that connector. It's entirely possible I knocked it out when replacing the coolant pipe.

Thanks - gasket material arrived today and I think I did a decent job. I made a few and chose the best one. The most difficult part was making that 15mm square. We'll see how the low idle is when I get it all back together and ready to run.
