Megasquirt Experience with M88 Engine/ Jeckyl and Hyde

FWIW, I've been running Microsquirt (essentially MS2 in compact/sealed unit) on my '76 2002 for nearly ten years with no issues. The logs will certainly tell the story, but to me this sounds like a crank trigger sensor issue or other intermittent signal/wiring issue. Bottom line, once all the...

    A Father's Day Tale

I decided to pass on the interior, largely because it was the wrong pattern. At this point in the restoration process, if I'm going to drop that kind of cash for an interior, it better be period-appropriate. There were too many other little issues as well. As to the car, it's currently in...

    FS: BaT E9 Seats

Thanks for posting this. I need to recover my seats and the car just happens to be nearby the auction. I may send my step-dad to view in person. If they are rough, I'll make sure to report back.

    Seat Upholstery Color

Thank you for this thread! I’ve been pulling my hair out. I have a 74 and none of the samples I’ve gotten were good matches either (I’ll post some from the zoom-zooming eBay seller as well). It’s almost like the US-bound later cars used a unique color from the Euro models.

AC upgrade: anyone heard of DTech?

Search for their other/former name: Select Classics. That should give you all the info you need. My opinion? Not with a ten foot pole...

What was original for a 74?

    WTB Chrome "CS" Emblem

As luck would have it, I'm also in the market for a new emblem set. Would the cost be more reasonable if we went in on two and split the shipping?

Minor upgrade to side grill attachment points

I'll be interested to see how this turns out. I attempted something similar, but with nylon screws. I used a plastic-rated epoxy to set them. They lasted about 3 weeks on the car before falling off (luckily it happened in the garage). Maybe JB weld is the answer!

Ignition switch / key cylinder no start

FWIW, I’ve had the same issue on my 74 intermittently over the past 5 years. I’ve replaced the switch and lock cylinder thinking there was too much play in the old parts, preventing full rotation. It still fights with me on occasion. I think it may have to do with the “grub” screw holding the...

    Recaro seats

Recaro Orthopeds are the most comfortable aftermarket seats I've ever had. I used a cloth covered set in one of my early projects, a Volvo 740 Turbo wagon. I now have a set in my E9 (see avatar photo). They are more comfortable than the Scheels I have in my 02 by far...mostly because of their...

What to do while windshields are out / headliner question.

:) A day late and a dollar short ;-) bGlass went in yesterday. And man, what a pain in the butt that was! I was able to get the rear in with just my wife's help, but the front required a neighbor and some ratchet straps. I really appreciate all the advice here though. It’s great to have such a...

    Door and Window Opening Trim

Resurrecting this thread as I don't see a specific answer to the question. With regards to the first layer of window trim which is screwed to the body around the window opening, is it appropriate to put some sort of caulk or sealant on prior to assembly? Mine had varying amounts of butyl rubber...

Sunroof Roof Rust - Paint & Body Help Needed

Thanks @Markos for the link. That is the most detailed look at the problem I've ever seen. While I will obviously have to follow @JetDexter in the future, that level of scope creep is not within this shop's capabilities or more importantly my budget right now. @stphers Understood that is the...
