Not a huge amount done lately, mostly little odds and sods on wiring, brake pipe holders for the struts, and picked up some m5 water pipes which looks like an e28 m5 radiator should go straight in. Original throttle linkage goes on with some extension, and also got a bunch of bmw hose clips as...
Comes with the handles and also the handle screws. All in good shape. PM me your address and I can get a shipping quote. All boxed up now and ready to go!
@Arde this is a set of Recaros I done with the kit which are now installed in my Mk1 golf. They have lasted about 6 years and have held up fantastic, the kit cost about £50 from memory. Won't be showroom fresh but it still has the character and patina of the seat without looking tatty
I use a kit from a company called furniture clinic in the UK. Thoroughly clean the leather with isopropyl alcohol and if needs be for any cracks, use a flexible leather filler which is then sanded down. I then apply leather dye with a sponge or cheap airbrush, then multiple coats of sealant
This was my solution. Twin circuit booster from the same company @Rek purchased from. Only issue I had was that the outlets are 3/8 UNF rather than M10. I have reused the original banjo bolts and unions from the bmw servos but retapped the banjo bolts to 3/8 which is about 9.5mm rather than...
Now have a functioning heater and master cylinder. Will redye the leather and give the interior some love then fit a new fritz Bits exhaust but she is ready again for the spring!
If changing diff ratio don't forget will need the speedo to suit. Mine had a 4.10,but a speedo for a 3.25! So at 100mph was doing an indicated 140ish. I do a lot of highway driving so have gone for the 3.25 with an OD 5 speed, although running a bit more power than stock, on a standard 3.0 a...
A bit more done, engine harness now located and the ecu and relays under the dash just waiting for final mounting. Famous last words but seems pretty straightforward. A few wires run from the painless harness to the engine harness for the temp gauge, battery charge and pressure lights. This...
Installed the new dual circuit brake servo and made a start on wiring.
Please note the environmentally friendly engine mount as I'm still working out lowering the engine so it doesn't smash the hood on full load
Brackets painted up and the servo sits quite nicely in there. Also moved the header tank over about 20mm and dropped the engine for the linkage to clear the hood. Made a start on the wiring, removing the unnecessary gubbins from the m88 harness which has left me with about 8 wires to connect up...
Gearbox in, also sorted out the fitment of the new brake servo, twin circuit but only one booster so saves a fair bit of weight and space. Mounts up on the standard brackets with a small adaptor plate. Also shifted the header tank over slightly for more clearance to the plenum.
Need to...
Went to clean the garage and ended up dropping in the new heart. Stay tuned for 70 pages of not being able to get her running and ignoring everyone's advice!
Hardened crank hub fitted. The old one had definitely broken a dowel pin at some point as there was signs it had spun, some scoring on the crank but nothing major, new dowel pin, hub, and revised nut/washer fitted. Also got the flywheel and clutch fitted and the engine mounts.
All that's left...
