    16x7 et11 Alpina replicas, set of 4

I can't speak to the ride quality differences, that's a highly subjective subject and I have no experience with e9's. I just checked though, and Tire Rack lists 171 (!) choices for tires in the 205/55R16 size, so that would be a factor for a car that is driven more than a few times a year...

The car they were on was an e23, so I'm afraid pics on that wouldn't help too much, sorry. Edit-for what its worth: IMG_0095 by chrisica, on Flickr

two gorgeous E9s spotted in Cheyenne barn!

Yes it was a bit of a play on words I suppose, the EMD E9 was the premier passenger train locomotive of the late '50's and 60's.

    Introducing my 1972 Bavaria 3.5 5 speed

Beautiful car! My build will not be strictly stock either, and you will always find people who would do it differently, but if you're satisfied then that's what's important. Edit-Although I'll also admit that my car is much less of a restoration candidate than yours. Yours being so clean and...

    Front hub spacer removal question

That's not a spacer, it's the actual hub. The brake disc bolts to it and the assembly is then mounted to the axle stub. It's #1 in this drawing. Edit, posted a minute too late. The only way to bring the wheel inward would be to machine the mounting face, and it depends on the wheel...
