    Vintage Radio discussion questions

Perhaps not vintage enough looking for everyone but I put in a RetroSound 4 speaker setup with a sub, 4 channel amp is behind the glovebox. I did not use their speakers but used some decent quality Hertz speakers as I wanted to fit the vintage speaker enclosures that were already in the car...

    Dash bulbs

Appreciate the offer, I think I'm good - just ordered a couple new gears for the odo, the rest is in good shape.

    Dash bulbs

Sage advice, will do. I did try sticking something into the top hole but I could not free it up that way. Of course now that I have it out both gears on the odometer are broken, so I can't just get by with the easy fix. Happy new year and thanks for the help!

    Dash bulbs

OK, never mind, answered my own question - I was able to get my hand in at a better angle and tip the top forward and free it up.

    Dash bulbs

"someday" has become "today" so I'm finally getting around to this - I've dropped the lower dash cover, removed the top anchor screw from the gauge cluster and removed the speedo cable. Short refresher from above, on my car I cannot access the cluster from the top as my car did not have a radio...

    Looking for AC parts

You are right on how the switch works - or replace the old style switch that inevitably breaks with an Indak 3-speed with the resister coils on the switch - has worked well for me. I inherited a system with a rotary compressor of some kind that had been upgraded to 134a at some point - the fan...

I used Keys4Classics also, they made mine just off pics and they worked perfectly, turnaround was pretty quick. https://www.keys4classics.com/

    clutch master question

OK - after a better search I found a thread from last year as well if it's helpful wherein a frustrated HB Chris dug up some part numbers as well...sounds like mixed results on the rebuild kit reliability but I'll give it a go, part of the fun as they say. Here it is for posterity, don’t ever...

    clutch master question

thanks- those are the kits I ordered (from another site) but none had it when it showed up - not sure if they fall out of the crappy boxes they put them in or what (first kit I ordered was missing a few pieces.) For $8 maybe i'll try one of these and see if I hit the lottery - if you guys have...

    clutch master question

My master cylinder started leaking, I preemptively purchased a rebuild kit so I intend to do that in the near future. Question is the kit does not come with the rubber piece that fits into the top of the cylinder and seals around the input pipe. Nor does RealOEM show a part # for it (where...

    E3 Windshield seal/gasket

Unless I'm misreading this (google translate) it just says "notify me" as the part is not currently in stock... We apologize for the fact that the product (windshield gasket E3) is currently not in stock or not in the desired quantity. Please let us know your e-mail address if you would like to...

E3 running high at low speed/idle

That is correct - but when I bought the car despite having re-cored the radiator with an extra row and adding a lower temp thermostat I was paranoid about the cooling since I get stuck in Chicago summer traffic a lot - so after speaking with my mechanics we locked on the fan with the...

E3 running high at low speed/idle

correct - here's a thread on shimming the clutch (which I have not done myself yet but intend to) if indeed that's the problem and you want to retain the existing fan ... https://e9coupe.com/forum/threads/overheating.37295/page-3

What's the dumbest thing you've ever done putting your car back together?

ha ha - just after paint correction my hood came down on my jumper box and same thing - now have annoying paint pop

I'd love to find these too (you can have first dibs!) - I looked around a few years ago and could not dig anything up.

    Possible hidden corrosion Question

Mine had corrosion on both sides in the same location (was aware when I bought it, we adjusted the over-the-phone pre-negotiated price which assumed there were no issues.) Left side was not bad, right side was significantly deteriorated and needed a lot of work, was close to being a structural...
