    Legendary 507

Bentley lists it on their site, but when you order it, it's not available. I'll keep looking. But if anyone has a copy for sale, I'm interested! Lowell

Polaris Euro ‘74 3.0 CS on BaT

Was going to post this, but everyone beat me to it. Kept the car after my stint at Opel and brought it back to the US in 2018. Thanks for the nice comments!

    Preferred resto shops

I admire Andrew making his car wateright -- a tribute to his willingness to take his car anywhere, under any conditions. I am not so brave! After I brought my car back from Germany in 2018, I took it through an automated car wash and promptly got soaked (and my car is pretty tight). I have...

    Importing a e9 3.0

I imported my '74 CS from Germany in 2018 (I bought it there in 2004). I was fortunate that I had an advisor (whom I paid) who let me leverage his contacts. Overall, it went smoothly, but consistent and clear paperwork is an absolute must to get the car out of the exporting country as well as...

    Sunroof part?

Found this in some used parts I acquired. Since it’s labeled “Golde,” I assume it’s part of the sunroof drive mechanism. If someone can use it, I’ll happily send it to them. Lowell

Posted incorrectly in photos. I will repost in parts.

    Sunroof part?

Discovered this in some parts I acquired. Labeled “Golde,” a sunroof part, I assume (my car doesn’t have one)? Can someone use this? If so, PM me and I send it. Lowell

    1974 CSI on Hemmings

That makes sense for US deliveries, and I assume was due to exchange rates. But that would not have been the case in Europe (the fx factor). My car was built in March '74 and delivered to Bavaria Autohaus in Darmstadt about a week later, with its first registration in early April.

    1974 CSI on Hemmings

Was it typical for there to be such a big gap between production and sale (car actually wasn't registered until July '74)?

    Flickering brake warning light ....

Thanks -- correct on the triggers for the light. The light is just flickering randomly on and off. Pulling up the brake handle will make it glow steadily.

    Flickering brake warning light ....

This just cropped up. Nothing has changed (other than it's been a little cold in the garage) -- foot brake and parking brake both working fine. Fluid level OK. Is this a known fault? Any suggestions appreciated!

    Dutch E9 (CSi) on BAT

Did BMW use model years, the way that US brands did? If not, I’m surprised that a car delivered in Oct ‘73 is labeled a ‘74. Also, does anyone have any info on the add-on Blaupunkt push button radio tuner? I have one of these, but no manual and would like someday to figure out how it actually...

    First Draft: 74 Changes

Here you go. This is the scan I got from Claudia Opel of BMW Classic at Essen earlier this year. I believe it's from the same brochure that I have, but will check and confirm. I am assuming that the "K" prefix represents Kuntstoff, or vinyl.

    First Draft: 74 Changes

Separately, I also confirmed via BMW Classic Center and a period Euro upholstery brochure that perforated vinyl (to match the door panel trim) was available in '74.

    First Draft: 74 Changes

My Euro '74 has no rear sway bar (and no evidence that one was every mounted). Always thought it was Euro only.
