    Power steering faulty

Thanks for the comments guys. I removed the filter and there does seem to be a decent flow from the pump, enough to suck my finger into the hole at the bottom of the resevoir  One thing I did notice though is that the fluid seems to have a fair amount of metallic particles...

    Power steering faulty

It's not on full lock, it happens as soon as you try to move the wheel at all (and you really have to heave on the wheel to turn it)

    Power steering faulty

Thanks for the comprehsive reply, I will check the filter as there is no sign of any movement in the reservoir with the engine running. How do i get it out? On my car ('73 CSi) the power steering is driven directly from the crank with it's own belt. The problem has got progressively worse...

    Power steering faulty

Folks, Does anyone have good knowledge as to how the E9 power steering system works? I have a fault with mine which I thought was just a loose belt, the symptoms being that the steering goes heavy and the belt squeals when manovering at low speed or through tight corners. However the belt is...

    My CSi Renovation

An update on this is overdue. I removed the covering from the parcel shelf and cut holes to allow the sound from the speakers through but still keep a standard look, I also cut the hole for the rear seat belts. It came out well I think and looks "Factory" The B-posts cut for the front...

    FS: 1973 3.0cs/Alpina Tribute

I agree completely, the thread should only contain the advert and no replys. If someone feels strongly about the advert (has had a bad experience with the vendor for example) then they can always start another thread in the discussion section about the sale.

    Wheel Offset (ET)

Folks, Is anyone here familiar with the wheel offset requirement for our coupes? I notice that most of the 16" Alpinas for sale seem to be 7" ET11 for the front and 8" ET24 for the rear. How critical is this? For example would a set of 8" rims with an offset of ET20 fit the car, and/or...
