1971 BMW 3.0CS Euro, 159,000 miles. I've owned it since 1999, and in 2001 the car was given a full restoration.

Body Work:

The car had a bare metal respray, was fully reupholstered in navy leather and got new carpets all around. Corrosion issues were addressed, but the corrosion to this car was minor at best. The floorpans are great, and the shock towers have were reinforced.

Engine Work:

The carburetors were replaced with newly rebuilt Zeniths, the block (just the block, not the engine) was replaced with one from a 535i, the gas tank was replaced, the exhaust system was replaced, the ignition was replaced, the car had its cylinder rings aligned, the clutch was replaced in 2002 and the fuel lines were replaced. All work was completed by H&B BMW Specialists in Berkeley, CA.

Upgrades:

MOMO wood/Leather steering wheel, Alpine stereo system with 6+1 CD changer with custom speakers, 3-point seatbelts, 16 inch powdercoated Alpina rims and Bilstein shock absorbers.

The end result of all of this work (and money, receipts total FAR beyond $25,000) is a car that runs perfectly and looks great. I drove to Tucson from Los Angeles in it earlier this year and it ran like a champ. It does have two small dents, but these are an easy repair for a well-equipped CS shop. I've enjoyed it, and hope that you (the next owner, perhaps?) will too.
