Dad bought this car back in '81.
When I grew up, it was the nicest car in the world to me. Nothing was cooler than dad's coupe. I'll admit that this car made me what I am today - a motorhead.

I'll never sell the car, cause it's worth too much to me.

The headliner wasn't nice, so it was refurbished.
The paint was cracking and it needed a fix-up.
So we sent the car to a friend who owns a bodyshop.
He was also supposed to remove the engine and paint the engine compartment, and switch the gearbox.
Long story short:
The friend was unfortunately of the unserious kind, and after two years in his garage we picked up the painted, but not reassembled car (the trunk is full of parts and weatherstrips, windshields etc.)
The engine compartment had not been painted.

I've figured out where all the parts fit, and have orders from Walloth and Maximillian on the way. I also found many parts at my local BMW dealer. Sweet!
Imagine going to the Chevy dealer and buying stuff for my 73 Camaro..

Among the parts are:
New rear springs, windscreen modlings and decorative frames, service parts, all seals for the sunroof +++

Now, I need to color match the old sunscreens and molded piece to the new headliner. Do anyone of you know the color code of the white headliner??

Here are some pics of the CSi and the Camaro.
The only thing left on the Camaro is choosing the right tire size.
Haven't decided yet.

Thanks

Although a bit technically challenged this is a briliant posting! (the pics don't resolve and are encoded incorrectly?)

Contact Andreas Harz at BMW at the following email address and ask him if he might research this most important white issue. Indicate to him that Randall the BMW color 'pest' we joke about suggested he might be able to answer your concern?

World upholstery might also be helpful and supply product.

Lastly, how's all that 'white' the snow this winter in Norway, Hoe?

Cheers!

The pictures work great for me!? hmm..

Thanks for the advice, I'll contact them and ask.
World Upholstery don't send spraycans air freight, so I'll have to order in Norway :(

The snow is awesome! This winter has been the best for many years, with lots of snow and temperatures between -5 and -25 degrees Celsius all winter.
...but I miss the summer, the smell of gasoline and burnt rubber...

I got the pictures to work. I am on a Mac and new users (you) may have certain picture restictions that are sometimes an issue here on the Forum: (Love them and love white Coupes too!)

I see so you are to spray coat your headliner and not replace the fabric?
Did you learn this practice at Earl Shibe? (inside joke)

I suppose in Norway white is white, what with all of the snow?
Here's my home in the mountains above Los Angeles in CA last
week when I had to dig out from the snow....we are NOT immune!

lol!

(Note my Alpine 'White' e24 under the snow? ..which can be found at the following IP address)

Note my dog cautiously approaching not to know what to make of the big 'pile' ?

Send a message to Andreas (at BMW Munich) and he will help, I am sure...

Now that's a nice car :)
Too bad the american version has those big bumpers though.

Actually, the headliner itself has been replaced, but the guy wouldn't refurbish the molded piece and the sunscreens. He said it was too difficult.
So I'm counting on cleaning and spraying it white again. The sun has done the worst damages, and the fabric is yellow-ish in some places.

You should be able to find someone who can mix paint or dye to match the color of your new headliner. You don't actually care about the original color, you want to match what you have.

For instance, here in the US there is Leatherique:
http://www.leatherique.com/
They have the correct products you need.
I'm sure there are others, perhaps closer to you.
