Is there an existing thread that discusses options for the AC fan switch? Now that I have ice cold air, I'd like a variable speed switch.

Mine has super low, really low, then full blast as the only options. I've sprayed it with contact cleaner, lightly sanded the contacts with little improvement.

Ideas?

Hi!
I have just replaced the original A/C fan switch with a ,new, non original one. It´s a tree speed switch witch give you low, medium and high speed.
I bought from Nostalgic Air Parts and it´s a resistor blower fan switch, Part #119-9910.

Attached is a modified wiring diagram. It´s important that there are no cables close to the resistors. They get hot.

Henrik-Thanks VERY much...that is exactly what I was looking for.

For the record, my resistor measures 2 ohms. I substituted a .3 ohm resistor (from a vintage Tamiya Sand Scorcher!) and I get exactly what I want-fan speeds in all ranges. Towards the top of the sweep I get about 80%, then the final click I get 100%. The switch gets hot, the resistor gets hot, it all seems OK but who knows long term.

I just ordered the switch!
