Our friend Antar just purchased a 3.5L engine, Getrag 265, and ported head with a Schrick camshaft. He's hiding it all in the garage hoping that it is not discovered! We had some nice weather in DC yesterday so I fired up my coupe and stopped by Antar's place to help him clean up his engine and tranny.

John your 2 quick

I just saw that you already posted this to the group. Thanks alot for sharing some brew, hanging out with me and the old coupe. I am going to really take my time and make sure that this 3.5 and getrag 5sp conversion is done right. I can't tell you how often I have thought about upgrading my coupe, I have owned her when I could not afford her back in my College days. Yet she has patiently waited all this time for me to "hook her up." Even after being placed waaaay down on the family list of things to do. Anyway, this Winter I am planning address the bodywork with a to the metal cut and replace and paint. Afterwords, I try to get the big engine 5sp in by the summer. The first thing for me to get this process started was to acquire the parts.

-The Adventure starts.

For those who are interested check it out. Here are some more pics.

JJ, your window banner cracks me up...
I take no responsibility for myself. I was born and raised in East Tennessee when I wasn't living in Vienna, Austria.

Gotta love the "Buck Rodgers" exhaust pipe extension. Good for at least 0.00005 extra HP
Mine you I shouldn't make fun of your car while mine is still in a state in the shed

Malc - the tail pipe end has caused me no end of grief. I have a nice BMW chrome tip (55mm). My exhaust is 60mm and I cannot locate the real part or even a reasonable facsimile. The pipe size is rather odd for all the US tail pipe options. When I saw Buck Roger model in the correct size I knew my search was over. I think I can actually notice the HP improvement! :p
