Hmmm I am trying to remove the bracket but it won't come off. Based on realoem there are two bolt on the face of it and one on the side on the front of the motor.

All 3 are off and I can wiggle it a bit. It moves a 1/4 inch from each bolt hole but something is holding it right in the center. Any ideas?

And crank damper has to come off first. You probably have the later compressor, post a pic.

Aha. That would unfortunately make sense. Yes I do have the later style Bosch one.
I tried to add a photo from my phone and it looks like it did not work. So here it is:

Realoem shows just one bolt (17) going to the bottom hole. Are you saying there is another one going in the hole right above it on the bracket (15)? It would actually make sense from what I am feeling in that it seems that there is something holding it in the middle.

(17) says three M8 bolts, I thought you had a York too. Must be one hidden. With a York Damper has to come off.

Nope. Just removed one of these. No need to take off the damper.

There are two bolts (17)kind of hidden if you look up from underneath.

takes a normal wrench to squeeze in there. Takes awhile, but not too bad.

Bo,

Can't help with removal, but I had that same bracket on my '74. IF you are going to install a Sanden, it will work with that braket, just takes a little bit of modification. IF you are going to do that, let me know and I can send you my pix and materials list.

Thanks all. Yes I think the damper has to come off. Here is the bolt hiding in the middle:

I am trying to remove it bc I don't think I'm going to keep this motor so I would want to remove all the useable parts.
