Are the ‘74 rear window motor mechanism housing the same as on the e28?

I am replacing my 74 rear window stock motors with the 28 ones. For this year car it is pretty much plug and play. I do have one problem however. The e28 housing has two of his three nut holes stripped. One still has a broken Bolt in it. See picture.
I am wondering if that housing mechanism is the same and only the motor part is the difference. In which case I could separate the motor from the mechanism and use the old housing with the new motor.
Has anyone tried that?

It was a well intentioned good friend. ;-) I could certainly ask if he's got another one but I want to see if I can fix it first.

Damn. Never mind. I just noticed that the mounting bolts are in different locations...
Edit: mounting bolts from the motor to the mechanism housing that is.

I begged him to buy the extended warranty - he refused!

kidding- he will get a new one with smile.
Actually with a little help from a sharp nail and a hammer I was able to slowly spin the cut off bold enough that I could then grab it and unscrew it. Then with a little chisel and a 6mm tap I was able to revive the threads in the other hole. Result: we’re in business!

PS: Don was getting a ton of awesome things done on my car that day and when it came to picking up those rear window motors, we just focused on testing to make sure we had good fast ones. I completely forgot to check the bolt holes before leaving. My bad.
