At a time when I should be thinking about finding good homes for some of my cars I suffered some slight dementia and made an offer on another race car. To my delight the owner accepted it! Here's what I bought:

Its a Group 2 2002 that was part of the GS Tuning Team that ran the DRM (predesseor to the DTM) in 1975-76:

The car is pretty amazing with lots of interesting modifications including an M12 up under the hood:

The car is in Europe so I will be arranging shipping this coming week.

Should look pretty good parked next to Luigi!

Plus you have a DRPower lawn mower out front for those occasional offs...just kidding. Looks well sorted, and a ton of fun! Well played.

Here's a few more interesting details on the car.

FT2002_Diffclrdrive.jpg

On one side of the diff is the diff oil pump drive. The cooler is out in the small box extension in front of the rear wheel well.

FT2002_gendrive.jpg

On the other side of the diff is the generator drive.

FT2002_rearsubframe.jpg

Rear subframe with trailing arms. Some thoughtful mods on the trailing arms.

FT2002_steering.jpg

Rack and pinion steering mounted to the front sub frame.
