036 Riviera Riviera Standard Blue
037 Fjord Fjord Blue Metallic Blue
039 Pacific Pacific Blue Standard Blue
040 Nachtblau Midnight Blue Metallic Blue
041 Atlantikblau Atlantic Blue Standard Blue
042 Baikal Baikal Blue Metallic Blue
044 Pastellblau Pastel Blue Standard Blue

My old 2800 (currently re-painted Fjord long ago) has a sticker of "Pacific", yet I can't seem to find any swatch or image painted with that. However, BMW Historical says it was painted "Atlantik".

Wondering if folks can start posting pics of the various E9s painted these paint codes?

i think pics are difficult to compare ... my blue CS was Baikal OEM but repainted lighter blue ... perhaps not even a BMW color. I think....
In pics sometimes it looks quite darker than in reality.

I am looking forward to seeing posted pics. But I do agree with Barry that pictures on a computer screen are often as far from what one would experience in person as you can get. I deal with this a lot in my work - taking photos of materials and sending. The camera doesn't always capture the coloration correctly, and who knows what the end user's computer screen does with the information.

Okay - on to positive thoughts. :D It should be an interesting thread. I (think I) really like Riviera, Atlantik, and Nachtblau.

I think Pacific was an early Neue Klasse and 1600 color and replaced by Atlantik. Murray’s US 2800 was number 13 and it was Atlantik

I also think Arktisblau was a MY 74 color.

I'm running a VIN check on 227002, currently badged as Pacific. It would be the first time that BMW didn't list a color in the orange books.

Riviera is a rare color, something like less than 1% of our registry. I initially thought that it was an early-only color, but I confirmed via the brochures that it was available in '74/'75 (as indicated below).

This 1974 Riviera sold on BaT:

these are the codes that i have for blues = bmw code / name / years / parsons code

36 Riviera = 70 (69-75) = bm18
37 Fjord metallic = 72 = bm26
39 pacific
40 Nachtblau metallic = 70 (73-76) = bm37
41 Atlantik = 68 (70-74) = bm20
42 Baikal metallic = 68 (70-76) = bm23
44 Pastelblau = 75-76 = bm40
45 Arktisblau metallic = 74 = bm41
59 Caribe = 65 (67-69)
65 Turkis metallic = 72 (73-75) = bm36

Ahh perfect. Darn - I was hoping it was legit. Thanks for sharing! Well I still have Mintgrun and Phonix. Mintgrun is in the orange books actually, and the Phonix was on a '77 E3. I was talking to a friend today, and he was commenting on a factory 3.0CS in bristol (in Washington). Bristol is only listed as a 2800 CS color. Also, Taxi is listed as a color and I've never seen one online or otherwise.
