can't tighten the knob portion of window Crank

Great advise and I did remove the black cover to get the entire crank off and it does not appear it can be tightened...unless does can the black dot be removed?

That knob is riveted (smash type rivet bolt) to the crank, take a look on rivet from the rear side, if rivet head sits tight on the crank, it mean plastic part of knob is worn out from inside.

That small knob should be loose enough to turn. If the whole winding handle is wobbly, you must be missing the plastic cup & spring that hold it firmly to the splined spindle.

They are in many cases. For sure this is not the best reference for BMW-quality.

Good in a bad is the crank is not the part being difficult to find around.
