This past Saturday my friend decided to replace the center track link and tie rods on my 73. He took the old parts off connected. He assembled the new parts on the ground to look like what he took off but something looked wrong. He checked my 71 and sure enough the tie rods were on backwards with the adjustors close to the engine not the wheels. Sunday I drove the car 60 miles and steering was great. The next fun project is the carb lineage is heading something which is restricting my top speed. which now seems to be about 70mph

Carb linkage problem the previous owner used the stock BMW carb linkage instead of using the Weber kit linkage and one of the arms is hitting the upper part of the front carb so the secondary's never open. I have the right parts but will have to put spacers under the carbs to install more fun but making progress
