Cruise Control Installation

Well done!

but I'd be REAL careful about cruise control on a manual trans car.

No matter, I live on an island 30 miles by 40, with 800,000 other people and God knows how many cars.

Why? I've used it on several cars with no problems. Or, do you mean older cars with manuals?

Has anyone saved this story about installing cruise control?
The link is dead.

Thanks,

I tried to install one of these 30 years ago on my first coupe and it was such a PITA that I gave up, a lot of hassle for something not used very often, and doesn't work very well when it's engaged. A cramping right foot is a lot less painful than this, but maybe the technology has improved?

That proves Honolulu's point, it was dangerous.

Thanks 69 2800.

I just drove from Atlanta to Winston Salem NC to attend The Vintage.
300 miles of expressway.
Foot got tired.
Going to look at linkage and make sure nothing is binding.

Cruise control if properly installed will work fine.
It has safety features that cut if off if you step on the brake or clutch.
Going to look into the newer units that are available.
At least have it done by next years trip.

This was my cars first time more than 40 miles from home and it ran well and I even had AC and a good stereo. You do have to turn it up pretty loud though.
