I have a diff that I was told come out of an early 635, I think it has E24 cast into the top.
It is an open diff, 3.07 ratio.
I want to replace all the seals but I can’t find any instructions for this diff.

It has no bolt holding on the output shafts so how do I get those off please?
I assume they are held in from the inside so I need to remove the side of the diff then look for a clip that holds each output flange on?
To remove the nut that holds the input flange on, do I use heat or just an impact gun?

Can anyone direct me to where I could find online instructions?

Apols for the basic question, I have searched the forum and found a thousand requests for a LSD but none that help me with this.

Thank you.

The half shafts are a pressure fit. Just put a large screwdriver or small wrecking bar etc between the housing and flange on the half shaft and will pop right out. As to the input shaft an impact wrench or you might not need one.

Thank you, that worked a treat, I made up a very simple jack system using two bolts and pieces of wood to spread the load and act as a spacer, but they came off super easy with minimal effort.
I put in a plug to keep everything clean whilst I finished off with the wire brush prior to painting,

Pinion nut came off with an impact wrench, so all good so far.

I will measure the old seals to be sure I get the correct size new ones.

I’m planning on tapping the new seals in with a hammer after protecting with a piece of wood, unless someone has a better idea?
