Hi there,
was in need of something like this. Here in Poland didn't find any for purchase, so decided to make my own.
Made 10x pieces, so i think should be enough for little welding.
Time needed ca. 3 hours (for 10x), most of time spend on preparing tools and searching for needed materials.
Some tools needed (welder not shown).
Needed materials: 1. Metal closed profile 20x20x20mm, 2. Nail, 3. Metal sheet 20mm width 0,8mm thick, 4. Bolts with head for flat screwdriver M5, 6. Butterfly type nuts.
I started with cutting of closed profile, pieces 20mm length.
Then i cut profile from one side exactly in a middle. Notice - you will need thin cutting disc, so the cut wasn't too big.
After from the other side exactly in a middle i drilled a hole for the bolt.
Slide metal sheet in screwdriver crack and then weld it, sheet metal length ca. 26-27mm, width ca. 20mm.
After i drill the hole in metal sheet (same diameter as diameter of nail used for locking nut).
Locking nut i've cuted from nail, length ca. 20mm:
That's how single parts look after:
I didn't care about look of this parts, so wasn't very precise in welding or cutting. For me most important thing was that it must work, not look. Maybe when i will make some zinc plating i will add them to other bolts and nuts.
Cheers
