Anyone have a suggestion for a wrench or other tool to remove the thin nut that holds the lock mechanism to the door skin? The nut is 1-3/16" and it's a tight fit for inserting the tool. TIA.

If it's not to stuck you could use the quick and dirty method with a flat screwdriver and a hammer :)

Nevertheless, soak it with WD40 or similar before.

De Quincey, That's what I need! Do you have a diagram you could send me?

a diagram ? well it is pretty simple, i asume that you need dimensions, but it will take some time to go back to my garage, maybe in a week or so

@Stefan :  "Go away, Satan! Because it is written, 'You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.',....... a hammer ??

Gee, I wouldn't do that - you might dent the door skin.

I just use a small/narrow pair of channelocks to remove that nut.

Thanks for all the tips. The hammer didn't work out but a pair of small needle-nose vice grips did.
