What is the proper sequence for installing the beltline trim (flexible rubber/plastic followed by the polished aluminum piece) for the front fender on an E3? I know that the rubber piece is laid down first and then the metallic piece over/into it, but what is the 'sequence' for the plastic and the one or two small retention plates that tightly hold the metallic beltline piece is it one at each end or two at the front? The metallic retention pieces (51131817064} are fastened from inside the fender with washer and a nut while all the plastic pieces are mounted and then expanded in their holes by pushing in the center piece. Do you use the metallic retention pieces one at each end or both on the curving front section of the trim??

Here is what tom_ftl, our admin of the German E3-Forum, wrote just five days ago.
The trim is screwed on from front to back:
the first two at the front (otherwise the trim will not hold on the curvature of the wing).
the 6th hole on the wing, approximately where the front wheel ends.
On the doors, at the very front and at the very back,
on the rear wing, the third hole, roughly where you can still reach it in the boot, at the level of the wheel arch outlet.
and the last three holes 'around the bend' at the very back.
That makes 11 per side.
Everything else gets the plastic clips. If they don't go in, the holes are too small (too much filler, paint or similar).

Addenda:
You may need only 10 screws per side, the rear wing trim of the 8-piece set (2500 & Bavaria) is shorter than that of the 9-piece set (3.0 & 3.3). Not entirely sure about that, though.
The rubber and metal parts of the trim are not meant to be separated. If you haven't already, don't do it.
