There is an E3 in the Aurora, CO Pick Your Part yard. Looks like it has some good parts; I would love to grab the grills but I'm hundreds of miles away.
Someone go grab whatever you can!

I could be interested in the hood. I called them but they have no interest in pulling the hood and shipping it to Florida.

Someone has to step up and save this. The car could even live again, but at the very very least, many members here could benefit from the useful bits still present on this most original E3. Hope it all works out.

Has anyone actually noticed the nose of this e3? It is actually rusting so bad it is about to fall off, the underside must be much worse. It does have useable parts though.

I'll see what I can do about getting out there. But a couple caveats - with the holidays it might take some time and as I found out recently, shipping can be more expensive than I would have expected.

Did anyone manage to get out to check this car out?

I finally made it out there for a drive by. It's pretty picked over. I came across some BMW guys I know who said the "good stuff" on the car didn't last long. But the pan and body panels were cut more more recently. Some trim, entire drivetrain and all suspension are there

My friends pointed out that there was a new arrival at the other end of the yard: a '71 2800. It's already missing a lot of the trim.

Interesting bit of home engineering. I saw a wall switch that was wired to an auxiliary fan. You can see the original location of the switch in the second photo

those tan seats are pretty sweet. if I were there, I'd grab the tail lights, mirrors and a few small things

I see there are still hubcaps on it. do you know if all 4 are there? I would love to get those if they will for the standard steel wheels. It looks like the wheels are alloy type.

Or if anyone has 1 spare hubcap that fits the steel wheel I’d be happy to buy it. I have 3 and need one to complete the set.

I would recommend that someone grab the brake master cylinder, maybe all the calipers too. They are getting harder to find.

The hubcaps are actually 2 piece. The hubcap itself and the trim ring. Like my avatar. The hubcap holds the trim ring on. Do you need just the hubcap or the hubcap and the trim ring?

Oh I see. The caps on my car look like frisbees and the trim rings are separate. I’ll get a picture of them tomorrow.
