Hi all,

My 2800CS rear shocks become to feel their 44 years of age so I'm going to replace them. But, as long as I have to put work on them, I'm thinking to buy an upgraded and lowered suspension kit. Sure I've seen that La Jolla can provide it, but I'm looking for someone who has it here in Europe.
I've seen many dealers but no one has the whole "package": someone sells shocks, others sells springs but no one of them look properly focused/specialized in classic BMW. wallothnesch.com should be the most specialized shop but I haven't seen anything there. Any suggestions? Thanks.
 
If La Jolla has everything you could work with them to have everything packed up and sent in 1 shipment using DHL. The shipping is not cheap but you can get everything from one place and I'm sure Ben would do the best he can on pricing of the parts so it may actually be cheaper. Plus you would get the right stuff all at once (priceless) :-)

When I have orders I usually place them by email and I attach pictures of what I'm doing or what I'm trying to achieve with the parts this helps them get the right stuff to you and eliminates confusion. Also don't forget to ask them if you're forgetting anything (spring perches, rear upper shock bushings etc.).

Or you could get the easier stuff from Europe and all the hard stuff from La Jolla. It's not bad if you have 2 suppliers, but when you have parts coming from many suppliers it can get confusing. If there are special parts that you find on the forum you could ask the seller to send them to Ben for consolidated shipment- I don't think he would have a problem with that.

Theres no VAT if you buy from CNPR, that 18% savings may be worth serious consideration

I've been in contact with KW recently, and they do not offer any other complete suspension-kit than the (very expensive*) V3 for the e9 chassis.

*Expensive if you are only looking to lower the car a bit, and have no track-ambitions.

Of course I prefer Europe as communication and a possible return would be much easier. I wrote to Walloth-Nesch and they told me that they have lower springs even if they call them “CSL springs” so now I know where to buy everything.

BTW, there is no way to dodge VAT here in Italy. When I buy from a not-EU country, the 22% VAT (plus a 10% import duty) is applied by Italian customs when the parcel arrives here.

How much are the W&N "CSL springs" lowering the car? Or did they not say?

...wow! 32% for Italian Customs ?!....Cosa Nostra is now a viable alternative !:grin:

Indeed. Last week I watched a sticker on a car which said "Don't steal. Government hates competition."

Walloth told me that the the "Csl springs" lower the car of a little more than one inch.
 
Anyone have a picture of a car with these springs installed?

I have Bilsteins on my CSL and though I also run lower springs and adjustable roll bars, it was the dampers that made the biggest difference.
