Electric sunroof deflectors

I opened the electric sunroof in my coupe this evening for the first time and it was quite surprised to see a little aluminum deflector pop up along the leading edge. Is this a bone stock factory set-up?

It all looks pretty clean and dry in there, which is encouraging. I am really enjoying getting to know the car!

Surprisingly, they are kind of a big deal. I had a roundie a few years ago and one of BMW buddies freaked out when he noticed that it had the a sunroof deflector. I moved it over to my coupe when I sold that 02.

Stan sells full reproductions with all the parts you need if you have to have one in your sunroof coupe.

To answer your question from yesterday, the wind deflector folds flat automatically when the roof is closed.

Here is another photo of the roof open and the deflector 'deployed'.

The Golde wind deflectors work on both manual and electric sunroof cars. Stan's repros are better than originals.
