Just back from blasting and on its way to Perfect Reflections for Glasurite surface prep.
All these years of watching the other cars get their shot in the paint booth and now it’s my time.
I have 4 cars now at Perfect Reflections- incredi

ble work for incredible collector cars.

It’s now apparent there is some European repair history on this car- the fender stitching is something to see.

How exciting is that? I'd love to hear how they deliver an assessment to a colleague. Do they laugh and jeer or do they just shrug and proceed b/c they've seen everything?

Hey Don, this is exciting news. Congrats on moving your car to this next step. The work that shop does is amazing. It really raises the bar! Say, that photo of the stitched fender, I am assuming this is right after coming back from media blasting. Did they then spray a coat of primer to seal the metal?

after 2 days of vacuuming and leaf blower and wiping down it goes in for Glasurit epoxy primer. I was warned about contaminating their booth with loose media.

What to do with this car? It’s a 226xxxx car, so a 3.0 csi.
Purchased 20 years ago with a carbureted engine and an automatic tranny.
Lucky for me it has a CARB sticker as a 2 bbl 3.0 engine registered in Cali.
I think Mike Burger did a smart move by sticking a hot rod engine in his.
Either bring back to csi or euro 3.5 Megasquirt with cam?

You should put a ridiculous motor in that showcases your talents accumulated over the years, a rolling display of the SFDon mojo

That sounds like a MUCH better idea than building it stock. After all, if you're going to drive it, it'll be loads more fun ripping around Marin in a hotrod.

Now explain what big c-tubes and Alpina closed caps are?! ;-)
