Been chasing her since 1987...
Thanks for the intro! There is no other content that I find more thrilling than pictures of dusty old e9’s in storage lockers and barns. So much untapped potential.
Give us some details and pics! CSi?
Yes. ‘72, manual with blue velours. A friend had it shipped over in 82-83 and it disappeared in 1989. Found it in conversation during a Christmas party 5 years ago and in November of 2018 I was able to locate the owner & negotiate the sale. So, after slumbering in a dark warehouse since 1996, she finally gets to the light of day today. I’m currently waiting on the flat bed to take her home to her siblings.
Holy cow - what a find. What a great chase and find - looking forward to learning more as you get her home. Congrats, and welcome to the forum!
This is great. I work in Jackson often and if you would like any assistance with parts or direction for restoration I'd love to stop by and meet you.
I would welcome the meeting.
Message me when your in town.
Will do, when does the car arrive?
Rare color for sure!
More pics more pics!
Is it factory Golf? That would be an oddball combo w/blue interior.
Yes, under the John Deere yellow, it’s Golf.
This one’s not happy though!
She doesn't like to share.
Was thinking the same thing with that rear badge spacing and the stick-on sidemarker.
Wow! You don’t see a lot of Golf CSI’s!
Found the rest of the badge on the floorboard
I had blue velour in my 74 euro CS. I don't think yours is blue. It looks more like dark grey or black. If I had your color seats they would still be in my coupe. I will just have to learn to live with black leather.
Great find, I know the feeling. Ours was a rusted 75 CSi in a barn. Orgasmic.
Congratulations! Please start a cleaning/restoration thread in Projects & Restorations.
Interior rake out starts tomorrow.
Here’s a treasure that was among the litter...
How exciting is a find like this.
About to to the same thing with my barn find CSL.
How knows what lurks inside
Worth chasing her and now you have her , enjoy
