Hi all, I had a chance to buy an M88/3 (complete with headers) and took it. It had two bent valves from a timing chain crash but apparently it has been looked at and the rest is OK. I guess I will see when it gets restored, keeping my fingers crossed.

I did look for install threads but did not find too much, the two main things seem to be:
- battery needs to go to trunk
- brake booster will be a problem
- maybe need to make a "dent" in the firewall

Luckily that is already done in the car I am thinking of putting it in, has a hydraulic servo now to fit the 3.5L better and battery is in the trunk.

If anyone has experience with install please let me know so I can pick you brains :) One thought to make the job easier is to go for Megasquirt, anyone have experience of that with M88?

I am telling myself this would be a very nice project, the added power and the sound seem great, I was warned about it possibly having less low-end torque, never driven an M6 so I don't rightly know.

Any other thoughts/opinions/considerations are very welcome.

As for the other project cars, two of them are next in line with Miklos, looking forwards to that.

/Johan

Cool find.
I assume the M6 being an E24 uses also the brake "bomb".
Not sure how to mount it in the E9 engine bay but the bomb is remarkably smaller than the E9 booster..

Never driven an M6 bit I assume you could favor low-end attributes by changing the differential ratio.

Thanks Arde, they aren't too common.... Yes, it would have a bomb and I already have that in one E9, the bomb is pretty small so it is easy to place. I am sure, things like diff , MS and some other mods can provide a bit more low-end torque. Will look into that on an M5/M6 forum. E9 driveline might not like too much torque though.
