Front rotor is warped

One of my front rotors is obviously warped. Still plenty of pad left. Do you think this is a disk quality issue? Caliper does not seem stuck because the disk spins freely for a portion of wheel rotation. Was thinking of just replacing the rotor.
ideas? Opinions? Thanks
 
You can warp a rotor but its not a common occurrence. We'll take your word that the caliper is not at fault, and further that the wheel bearings are properly adjusted. Essentially, that you did not recently "do something" that might inadvertently have resulted in an actually warped rotor.

Take the rotor to A brake shop and they can tell you if the rotor can safely be turned down. Rotors are not hard to find online, try to get one of the same make (though this may have been the original problem, what brand was it?)
 
Gordon, when you say "obviously," you mean from feeling it or measuring it? If it's pulsing under braking (and you probably already know this), uneven pad deposition is a common source of that sensation.

I removed the wheel and spun the disk by hand. At a certain point is stops and I have to force it to free up again.
When the brakes are used extensively and heated I can hear the front drivers side making a chaffing noise.

I will remove the disk today and let you know if I can find the brand name.

Is there a greater risk of it just warping again quickly if I just have them turned vs. replacing?
