Heating hoses!

Hello, need help because mechanic has some doubts on how to go on with the heating system!
We have two heater's metal connections incoming the engine bay. Please, could someone just tell me which are the links needed both for the upper and lower one?
I am completing the restoration now but previously the hoses were the ones you see in the attached image: I don't think this was an original assembly!!

The hoses I have now are the following:

You are quite right the picture is a bodge. The OEM picture should show the correct way of linking up the heater hoses.

Those are the correct hoses, one comes from the back of the head to one firewall connector and the othe goes from the firewall to the manifold. The one from the head is straight with a right angle bend at the end where it turns to fit the firewall. This goes on the top fitting.
